Product Strategy
Deciding what to build, what to leave out, and what the thing has to be worth to someone.
How I use it
A service that cannot be bought
Open-ended WordPress work turned into fixed-scope units for Warrior WP. Productising a service is mostly deciding what you will refuse to do, and that refusal is what makes it purchasable.
A model where cost scales with usage
FocusHouse generates its own catalogue, so listening hours do not carry a per-play licensing cost. The product decision and the business model are the same decision.
A tool too general to be reopened
InkCal is a coverage calculator built narrowly for print companies rather than a generic utility. Narrow tools get used twice; general ones get bookmarked once.
